My grandmother Milly is a 20 year breast cancer survivor. Today she is 84 years young! When I was in 6th grade I was part of a volunteer service club and thru them I attended my first Susan G Komen Race for the Cure in honor of my grandma. I have been a supporter since and put together a team in 2012. The Stampede Goes Pink Team walked the Race and I was happy to take my infant daughter along too. She wore sparkling pink shoes! I enjoy participating in the Race and knowing my fundraising and attendance is benefiting a good cause. I feel it is empowering for those who have had breast cancer and promotes awareness for others. I like knowing my donations are being used to help underserved women in our community and I feel good knowing the local Affiliate audits the recipients of grant funding. There are various ways to support the Race. You can Walk, Run, Donate or Cheer! I’ll see you at the Race on October 3, 2015… I’ll be the one in Pink!
