Stacie’s Story

My consistent message is early detection saves lives. Komen’s breast health program “I am the Cure” builds awareness by providing pertinent information on breast cancer risk.

I found my lump through breast self-exam and was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly thereafter. While I had no family history, I was aware every woman is at risk and had educated myself on early detection. I asked lots of questions to learn more about my disease. I accepted my diagnosis and tried my best to make good decisions about my treatment plan. I was fortunate when an onco-DX test result indicated I did not need chemotherapy. Through education, I decided to use a combination of homeopathic and traditional medicine to treat and recover from treatments.

My consistent message is early detection saves lives. Komen’s breast health program “I am the Cure” builds awareness by providing pertinent information on breast cancer risk. Join me at the Race for the Cure scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2015 and learn more about reducing your risk and healthy living. I’ll see you there!  ~ Stacie
