How to Apply for Community Grants

The promise of Susan G. Komen Florida Suncoast® is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all, and energizing science to find the cures. The Florida Suncoast Affiliate is fulfilling that promise: 75% of the money we raise stays in our Service Area through the Community Health Grants Program, while the remaining 25% helps fund Komen’s National Research Grants Program. During the 2015-2016 grant cycle, we funded $200,000 in grants to help local community programs meet the needs of the medically underserved.

The Request for Applications for the April 1, 2017- March 31, 2018 grant cycle is now OPEN.

The Request for Application (RFA) is built around the Affiliate’s Statement of Need which conveys the guidelines for the types of programs Komen Florida Suncoast is interested in funding. The Statement of Need and RFA are both based on findings from the Community Profile. The Statement of Need is included as part of the RFA.

The RFA also sets the rules for applying for Komen Affiliate grants, including deliverables under the grant contract, evaluation criteria, grants structure and budget and other qualifying guidelines that must be met before the proposal is sent to review.
